East Bloomfield Holcomb Fire Department
Due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19 (Corona Virus), effective immediately the East Bloomfield Fire District is postponing all Non-Emergency events and activities at the fire station until further notice. This includes ANY regularly scheduled and one-time events scheduled to be held at the fire station at 105 Main St. East Bloomfield.
These precautions are being implemented to help minimize any potential exposure of COVID-19 to our dedicated volunteers who are already at an increased risk of exposure due to their interaction with the public during emergency operations.  Postponing all non-emergency activities at the station will help our volunteers to remain healthy and available to answer emergency calls in our district.
We will have further communications when these restrictions are lifted, and normal community use of the fire station can resume.
Thank you for your understanding in these new and uncharted times.
 George Heissenberger, Chairman
East Bloomfield Board of Fire Commissioners.

2019 Training Schedule

Monday November 18:  The live fire training session originally on the schedule has been canceled.  The county burn building has been shut-down for the season.  The extreme heating from burning in cold temps. and the water run-off eventually freezing can damage the concrete in the building.

In place of the live fire training, we will be attending a review of fire operations at the recent fire (Nov. 13) on Baker Rd. in the Town of West Bloomfield.  EBHFD responded to this fire as mutual aid (engine & tanker).  This was a deep seated, attic fire that required significant effort, resources, and overhaul to fully extinguish.  All members will benefit from attending this review as there is always something to learn.

The review will be held at the Ionia Fire Dept. starting at 19:00.  EBHFD apparatus will be leaving our station at 18:45.

Monday November 24:  We will be conducting a review of the November 30th. fire on Maple Ave. (vehicle into house).  This is the debrief that was postponed due to our first snow storm of the season last week.  This will be at the EBHFD station starting at 19:00.  Again, another opportunity to learn for all members regardless if you operated at this fire or not.

December Training: The training schedule for December is going to be "a little flexible".  We are anticipating delivery on our new Engine 711 some time in early December.  There may be one or more Monday night trainings devoted to driver training and apparatus familiarization.  We will do our best to provide updates to the training schedule and the anticipated delivery date of the new 711 to all members as quickly as we can.  Your patience is greatly appreciated as the new 711 arrives and is put in service.

Sunday December 1:  Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.  We will need help with traffic control and apparatus drivers for the parade/procession from Canandaigua National Bank to Pickle Park (across from fire station).

Sunday December 16:  EBHFD Christmas party.  There is a sign-up on the sheet next to the radio room.  Please sign-up no later than Dec. 1st. if you are attending.  The party starts at 6:00pm.
